Anti-foie gras protesters file complaint over arrest
Animal-rights group Liberation BC has filed a complaint with the Police Complaint Commissioner against three Vancouver police officers after the arrest of the group's campaign director.Joanne Chang was arrested July 18 outside West Restaurant on South Granville at a protest against the restaurant's sale of of foie gras. Police were called by an area resident annoyed by the group's use of a megaphone. In a statement released by Liberation BC, Ms. Chang said: ''We feel that the Vancouver police acted like private security and violated the rights of a law-abiding citizen in order to defend the profits of a high-end business.''
