Truck stops traffic
An accident on Sources Blvd. near the Trans-Canada caused amajor traffic jam yesterday after a 53-foot truck toppled onto itsside at about 2:20 p.m. Police were on the scene to direct trafficuntil about 6:30 p.m.

Wife's body found in back seat
A 54-year-old Montreal man faces charges of second-degreemurder and desecrating a body after his wife was found dead in hisvan early Thursday, Sûreté du Québec said. Valerie Tchikonov wasstopped by police on Bonsecours St. in Repentigny for erraticdriving at around 4 a.m. After police arrested him for drinking anddriving, they found the body of his 40-year-old wife, HubertineBelleau, in the back seat, SQ Sgt. Gregory Gomez del Prado said. Thevictim was killed on either Tuesday or Wednesday and her bodyrevealed signs of violence with a blade, Gomez del Prado said.

Two toronto officers charged in drug ring are released on bail
Two Toronto police officers charged in an alleged drugoperation have each been released on $50,000 bail. The Crownconsented yesterday to the release of constables Patrick Lee, 31,and Kevin Bourne, 33. A total of 20 people, including three Torontocorrections officers, were charged in the alleged ring that has beenunder investigation since February 2007.
