Firery Crash S.E. of Montgomery May Have Claimed As Many As Seven Lives
An early morning fiery crash involving a state prison van and a tractor-trailer truck left several people dead. Alabama State troopers said all of those killed were riding in the van. The vehicle was carrying job applicants for Alabama Department of Corrections jobs.

Quincy Station Gives $2,000 to the Red Cross to Settle Price Gouging Allegations
Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced his office has reached an agreement with a Quincy gas station over allegations of price gouging in the wake of Hurricane Ike. Kelly Junior #9 will pay $2,000 to the American Red Cross and will reimburse consumers who were overcharged for gasoline.
