Donald James Vild, 24, 1400 S. Shore Drive, Southport, was arrested July 10 and charged with hold until sober, a misdemeanor. He was found sleeping in a vehicle in the 300 block of McGlamery Street, according to the report. The reporting person declined to press charges related to the vehicle break-in.

James Alfonzo Gause waived his right to a trial and pleaded guilty Tuesday in Brunswick County Superior Court to felony assault charges.Gause, 37, was sentenced to 2.6 to 4 years in prison for pushing detention officer Sylvia Jackson and assaulting another inmate while in the Brunswick County Jail in December 2005.
