A minor wreck was slowing mid-day traffic on U.S. 17 in Leland.A tractor-trailer driven by an Ocean Isle Beach man was rear-ended about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the entrance to Brunswick Forest, slowing traffic on northbound U.S. 17.No one was injured.

The Wilmington area's jobless rate soared in November to 7.6 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Tuesday.The figure, which encompasses the three-county area, was up from 6.3 percent in October.
