Oats is another forage option
A lot of hay was made last week in the area. Another forage option is the grazing of oats. The following information is from Stan Smith, program assistant in the Fairfield County office of OSU Extension, who has worked with a number of producers in his area on utilizing oats as a late summer forage.

Finally, the sun came out and we could start mowing the hay. The fields are still wet from all the rain, but mixing the hay up with tile teeter helps to dry it out so we can rake it.
