Security changes may be on the way for local animal shelter
Stolen from a shelter, beaten and left for dead. Someone stole eleven dogs from the Josephine Animal Shelter in Merlin over the weekend, killing at least four of them. We wanted to know what kind of security is in place at Lane County animal shelters to keep animals in and criminals out.

State field technicians have found seven gypsy moths in Eugene this August and another northeast of Portland. State officials say these are the early signs of a gypsy moth infestation, which can destroy thousands of acres of forest if not caught in time.
