Woman killed in crash in Hillsboro, police believe other driver ran a red light
Police believe a pickup ran a red light at Southwest 206th and Baseline and struck a convertible driven by 47-year-old Laura Paprocki of Aloha. Paprocki was killed in the crash and her 19-year-old son was injured. The driver of the pickup was critically injured and his 8-year-old nephew suffered minor injuries.

Salem girl pleads guilty to niece shaking death
A 13-year-old Salem girl has pleaded guilty to shaking her 16-month-old niece to death while babysitting. The teenager pleaded guilty to manslaughter Tuesday in Marion County Juvenile Court.

Police on the hunt for the 'Backpack Bandit'
Police believe the same man robbed a Vancouver Bank of America twice - once last August and again this week. The man, described as being in his late 20s, carried a backpack in both robberies. Police would like to hear from anyone who recognizes him.

Searchers unable to find girl who made distress call
Officials said a 6-year-old girl made the radio distress call from the waters near Tacoma on Tuesday afternoon, saying someone with her was in the water and was "not waking up." Contact with the young girl was lost and searchers were unable to find her.
