Astoria man killed after pickup wrecks
Robert James Rankin, 21, was killed early Monday when his pickup crashed near Knappa and came to rest on Highway 30, authorities said. Oregon State Police were still investigating what caused his pickup to run off the road and launch over an embankment.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management says it is getting ready to enforce the new laws on its land with patrols in ATV areas by federal agents and sheriff's deputies. New guidelines to ensure the ATV is a proper fit for the young rider are part of the rules.
