Frances DuPre Carter, 96, died July 17 at St. Mary's Medical Center. A cum laude graduate of Maryville College and longtime resident of Knoxville, Mrs. Carter most recently was a resident of Shannondale Retirement and Assisted Living Center, where she enjoyed playing bridge, helped with devotions and contributed to Shannondale's newsletter.
