Coalition airpower integrated with coalition ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan during operations July 21, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here. In Afghanistan, an Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle dropped guided bomb unit-38s onto a friendly forces vehicle near Khowst. The vehicle had been severely damaged by an improvised explosive device two days earlier. It was destroyed to deny the enemy access to potentially salvageable parts. Service delivery assessment vital to patient care
Patient feedback through a centralized telephone survey program known as the service delivery assessment, or SDA, provides Air Force clinic staffs with direct, rapid and relevant feedback from their patients vital to national security, Air Force Medical Service officials said. MQ-9 Reaper enhances Air Force capabilities in Iraq
The Air Force flew its first operational MQ-9 Reaper mission from here July 18, supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. The integration of the Reaper into theater-flight operations significantly enhances the strike and close-air-support capabilities of airpower forces in Iraq. The Reaper has a unique combination of long loiter times and large payloads, integrating and synchronizing with other air assets in the complex battlespace facing commanders. "The Reaper gives the joint warfighting tremendous airpower to bear on hostile forces who do not want the mission we share with the government in Iraq to succeed," said Lt. Gen. Gary L. Airmen and other American servicemembers from the Nangarhar Provincial Reconstruction Team here delivered emergency humanitarian assistance supplies July 3 to residents of Kuz Kunar and Dari Noor districts of Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. The Nangarhar Emergency Preparedness Committee assessed damage in the area after flash floods struck the area June 30, and then the committee requested support from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan who requested help from the PRT. more...

Officials seek enlisted medical community's input for Web
The Defense Department is looking for input from the enlisted medical community as it sets up a new Web portal that will enable medics and corpsmen to share lessons learned and suggest ways to improve patient care. The portal will provide a forum for the estimated 80,000 enlisted medical professionals to exchange insights as they share experience and expertise, said Dr. Michael E. Search effort continues following B-52 crash
A joint-agency search continues for missing crew members following the crash July 21 of a B-52H Stratofortress bomber 25 miles off the northwest coast of Guam. The bodies of two of the six Airmen on board the aircraft have been recovered. Identities of the crew members are being withheld pending family notification. On-scene in a 900-square mile search area are crews with two U.S. Coast Guard vessels and the USS John McCain, an Arleigh Burke class destroyer. Additionally, Navy MH-60S Knighthawk helicopters from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 and U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles from the 389th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron joined a Navy P-3 Orion from Kadena Air Base in Japan. Predator crashes in Afghanistan
An Air Force MQ-1 Predator crashed in southern Afghanistan July 21. The aircraft is a medium-altitude, long-endurance, remotely piloted aircraft.
