Apple patches 25 Mac OS X security vulnerabilities
Apple Tuesday issued its fourth security Mac OS X update of the year, patching 25 vulnerabilities, nearly half of them considered critical. The company also updated Safari for the Mac to plug a hole already fixed in the Windows version of the browser and released an update to bring the OS to version 10.5.4.

Buffalo Technology has become the latest vendor to announce a USB hard drive featuring built-in, hardware-backed encryption. Almost as interesting is that is costs almost the same as the same drive without security.

And it could be that six years from now we'll still be talking about Microsoft's aim to buy Yahoo's search business, which could involve obtaining the entire company and breaking it apart. Meanwhile, early adopters will undoubtedly be out in force on July 11 to be among the first to buy the new iPhone 3G.
