I know soproud of Bronson - he will be a great pitcher if he desires!!! I also think the Reds can still win the division. comment by Barbara Hughes on Arroyo gives big effort, halts N.Y. streak Jul 19, 2008 1:44 PM [GMT] |

I've been following this situation since it first appeared and have had a question. If there is a credible threat that Dillon Reservoir could be a target for terrorist contamination, is it really credible to believe the terrorists can't figure out how to contaminate it unless they have access to that road? I'm not a terrorist and certainly don't think I could possibly come up with schemes, but even I can think of several alternatives that would not require the road. So basically we are putting the community at major inconvenience and even risk (lack of easy access for emergency equipment) to prevent what? comment by sefakajira on Colo. After the way they worked to win the game - to see BAKER sit like always while the closer gives the game away IS UNBELIEVABLE!!! comment by Barbara Hughes on Cordero comes apart in loss Jul 18, 2008 1:44 PM [GMT] |

What a blowup for the Reds. It didn't take Cordero long to blow this one. The ace multi-million dollar closer gives up 6 hits and 4 runs in the 9th inning. What was Dusty Baker doing while this was happening? Absolutely nothing. He leaves Cordero in there when it was clear he didn't have his best stuff. Then, after the Mets score 4 runs, he replaces Cordero with Bray, who gets them out. This has to be demoralizing for the Reds who fought hard in this one, only to see it slip away in the 9th inning. comment by Les Hughes on Mets rally late and earn 10th consecutive win, 10-8 over Reds Jul 18, 2008 12:04 PM [GMT] |

Here is a stand for the other side. . . . “Outside the courthouse, Bota and co-counsel Guy Louie said they had not seen the police report yet and could not say what had prompted the fight. They said their client is a dedicated husband and a father of three children. "He's a family man and he is a hard worker," Louie said. Members of Capili's family were present at the arraignment, but his attorneys asked them not to speak to reporters. Capili has worked for FormFactor for six years and has received commendations for his work. In 1983, Capili immigrated with his sister from the Philippines in search of a better life for himself and his family, Bota said. He wanted to go to college in the United States, but decided to work to save money to bring his mother to the U.S. Since then, Capili has become a U.S. citizen, and is very proud to be an American, Bota said. Bota added that Capili had never been in trouble with the law before.” Website: http://www.insidebayarea.com/trivalleyherald/ci_9901947 comment by buscar123456 on Man held in co-worker's stabbing death at Livermore tech firm Jul 17, 2008 04:58 AM [GMT] |

This was an exciting game to watch. When it went to extra innings it looked like it could be over every inning, but the pitchers kept getting the critical outs. I'm glad they didn't declare it a tie like in 2002. comment by Les Hughes on American League All-Stars win 4-3 in 15 innings Jul 16, 2008 3:16 PM [GMT] |

I still don't think that NC should have the right to sell lottery tickets to stuff their coffers and a business man can't have entertainment and pay taxes on the income for the people of NC. We should be able to choose how we spend what little money we have left after filling our tanks with fuel and the NC state getting the highest fuel tax in these United States. If people want to play the video machines then leave them alone and let them enjoy them on their free time. They are a game of skill and the player has the choice of what he does with his hard earned money. I wonder some time if we are a free Nation. Leave the old widows and singles that enjoy playing Video poker, Bingo alone . At least they are not out shooting people and selling drugs that are killing our youth. Mostly the people that play these games are lonely and it gives them the opportunity to have a place to be able to have some kind of company instead of sitting home in front of the tube, with no one to talk to or enjoy others in a social way. Let the ALE and other agency that are waisting time and tax payer money not doing anything about the drugs that are in our cities and all over the State. Have you ever seen a bingo player or machine player kill somebody? They are entitled to some form of pleasure with out being harassed comment by mac1944 on Game Over, Illegal Video Poker Ring Jul 16, 2008 05:10 AM [GMT] |
