I was born in Green St and remember Dr Walfords Hospital. As kids we used to roam the fields around the estate. Yes, Louisiana and all states need new taxes as follows: Alcohol and drugs should have a heavy tax put on them to go to the treatment of addicts. Tretment centers are full. Treatment centers do not have long enough treatment time. Treatments centers do not have enough after care. Tobacco is pay heavy taxes. Tobacco is paying heavy fines. Alcohl and drugs are worse. They effect whole families, sometime three or four families. Quote from a 42 year old addict: "Drugs can be purchased on the street easier than an 18 year old can buy cigarettes, and that is not hard. Goes for alcohol as well. Louisiana give the addicts help now. Add special taxes to alcohol and drugs. Put the addicts back into society Mr Jindal.
