Latin America's leftist tide is ebbing
Latin American leftists have had much to celebrate during the past couple of years. Beginning in December 2005, when Evo Morales was elected president of Bolivia, allies of Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chávez gained power in Ecuador and Nicaragua and narrowly missed doing so in Mexico and Peru.
