Astros get Wolf from Padres
The Houston Astros acquired pitcher Randy Wolf from San Diego on Tuesday in exchange for minor leaguer Chad Reineke.Wolf, an NL All-Star in 2003, is 6-10 with a 4.74 ERA in 21 starts for the Padres this season. The 31-year-old is in his 10th season and will play for his fourth team. He previously played for Philadelphia (1999-2006) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (2007) before joining the Padres this season.The left-handed Wolf has a career record of 84-76 with a 4.30 lifetime ERA.

Baker Hughes second-quarter profit rises to $379.3 million
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Oil field services firm Baker Hughes Inc. on Tuesday said second-quarter net income rose to $379.3 million, or $1.23 a share, compared to $349.6 million, or $1.09 a share, a year ago. The second-quarter 2008 figure includes a net after-tax charge of $40.3 million, or 13 cents a share, tied to a previously announced legal settlement. It also includes an after-tax gain of $18.4 million, or six cents a share, from the sale of Houston-based BHI's surface safety systems product line. In a news release, CEO Chad C.
