Suburban Stage | Rare concert by Reynolds; a trio for kids
Debbie Reynolds: Do we even have to explain why this is so cool? Seventy-six years young, the singer, dancer, actress, and survivor of tabloid gossip (first husband Eddie Fisher left her for Elizabeth Taylor), makes a rare stage appearance in the western 'burbs. With musical credits from "Singin' in the Rain" to "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," Reynolds has plenty of stuff to strut in this show that also includes film clips, stories, and "bloopers." She's a living treasure no one should miss. Opens Thursday at Drury Lane Oakbrook, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace. Through Aug. 3. Tickets are $38 at 630-530-0111.

Evelyn Keyes: Versatile Hollywood leading lady
Despite over a decade of Hollywood stardom, Evelyn Keyes is probably best remembered for playing Scarlett O'Hara's sister in Gone With the Wind, and for her colourful private life. Her four husbands included the directors John Huston and Charles Vidor, plus the bandleader Artie Shaw, and she was sweetheart to the flamboyant showman Mike Todd until he left her for Elizabeth Taylor. On screen, Keyes established herself as an attractive and versatile leading lady in such films as Here Comes Mr Jordan, The Jolson Story and Johnny O'Clock, without ever attaining superstar status.
