Former Calhoun deputy arrested again
BRISTOLA former Calhoun County correctional officer is facing new charges of sexual misconduct with inmates, authorities reported.William "Billy" Strawn, 42, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of sexual misconduct between detention facility employees and inmates, a third-degree felony, according to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement news release. Strawn was fired from his job with Calhoun County last month after being caught on video discussing a sexual proposition with another female inmate, authorities reported.Strawn was being held late Tuesday in the Liberty County Jail and was expected to appear before a judge today, according to Tommy Ford, an FDLE spokesman.According to the FDLE, the new charges stem from Strawn checking out two female inmates for a work detail in early April and subsequently engaging in sex with them. Although Ford said he could not elaborate further, law enforcement officials previously told The News Herald that two former inmates claimed in interviews with investigators that Strawn provided them beer, early release and had sex with them before returning them to the Liberty County Jail, where some Calhoun County inmates are housed. The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, Liberty County Sheriff's Office and FDLE are working the case, and Ford said Tuesday the investigation is continuing.
