China's tax income surges 30.5% to about $477 billion:report
HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- China's tax revenues in the first half of 2008 surged to 3.26 trillion yuan ($477 billion), 30.5% higher than in the same period a year earlier, the South China Morning Post reported Wednesday, citing State Administration of Taxation figures. The surge was helped by strong industrial production and investment.
