My sons are mirror-image twins. Somewhere I read that about 1/3 of identical twins fall into this category. The theory goes that mirror-image twins split later than other twins and have already begun to establish some distinction between their brain hemispheres. So, one twin develops a preference for one side of the brain and the other for the opposite.That's simplification, of course.
