Illinois Tool Works sees Q2 continuing ops EPS at 94c-$1.00
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Illinois Tool Works Inc. has forecast second-quarter earnings from continuing operations in the range of 94 cents to $1 a share, the engineering-products manufacturer said Thursday. Revenue for the period is expected to rise 9% to 12%. For 2008, the Glenview Ill.-based company predicted earnings from continuing operations to come in the range of $3.35 to $3.49 a share with revenue growth of 8% to 12%. Analysts polled by FactSet Research are looking for, on average, second-quarter earnings of 97 cents a share and full-year earnings of $3.58 a share. For the three months ended April 30, the company said operating revenue increased 11.5%. Illinois Tool Works, the conglomerate based in Glenview, Ill., agreed to buy a British restaurant equipment supplier, Enodis, for $2 billion, the companies said.
