Air Force doctors are taking advantage of a unique training benefit, which allows them to travel to foreign countries and assist people with frequently encounter medical conditions that are not as prominent in the United States The doctors are deployed to Panama for a Medical Readiness Training Exercise, or MEDRETE, which runs now through July 26. Berg lands major contract for Mobile facility
Berg Spiral Pipe Corp. has landed a contract to produce and deliver 175,000 tons of wide diameter steel pipe for Houston-based El Paso Corp., Berg announced today.The deal means Berg's $75 million pipe and coating facilities, under construction on the old International Paper site near the Mobile River, will be fully booked from early 2009 until the second quarter of 2010.The pipe will be used in El Paso's $3 billion natural gas transmission project Ruby Pipeline, which stretches from the Rocky Mountain region to the western United States.Berg Spiral's parent, Berg Steel Pipe Corp. of Panama City, Fla., has said it plans to hire more than 100 people for its new facility, which is nearing completion and scheduled to start test production in the fall.
