Real Exclusives Raise Bar: Sony PS3 vs Xbox 360
Product Review's Daniel writes: Recently on the MTV's multiplayer blog we read a few comments Peter Dille, Vice President, Sony Computer Entertainment of America made about exclusives and how they affect the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 sales. What's interesting is the view Peter Dille has on exclusives that then become non-exclusive and the real exclusive games. One game that comes to mind is Final Fantasy XIII, this was going to be a Sony PS3 exclusive and then Microsoft open their wallet wide to get FFXIII on the Xbox 360. This will bring sales to both games systems.

Tomorrow's upcoming US PSN content
PSU writes: "Several pieces of content have been confirmed for tomorrow's PlayStation Store update in the United States. The first is 1942: Joint Strike. In this vertical scrolling shooter from Backbone Entertainment, you'll twist and weave your way through the opposition in your stylish old school airplane. The game, which features online cooperative play, will run your wallet a respectable $9.99. While the game is scheduled to launch in the US tomorrow, Europeans will have to wait "a couple of weeks" before they get a chance to get their mitts on this downloadable game. The other piece of confirmed content is a demo of the charming PixelJunk Eden. With the full game (which supports Trophies) set to launch a week later, this is the first title in the PixelJunk canon that will have a demo prior to its release. We wish Q-Games the best of luck with their new strategy. So, that's all that's confirmed thus far (that we haven't already reported, see the Guitar Hero III songs coming tomorrow here). Check back tomorrow for the update's details in full."

Sony: PS3 Is A Global System, 360, Not So Much
From Luke Plunkett of Kotaku, "Say what you will about his outbursts, Sony's Peter Dille is a man who wears his heart on his sleeve. Dude bleeds Sony. And as is often the case with passionate, outspoken types, as often as they're wrong about something, they're right about something else. Yesterday, Dille was so wrong about Final Fantasy XIII, but today (well, last week, it's from the same E3 interview), speaking about the PS3's global appeal, he's bang on the money: 'Developers know they have to amortize that investment over a global marketplace and the best place to do that is on a PlayStation format...'"

Nintendo Will Not Support Real Gamers On the Wii
Koji Igarashi, producer of the Castlevania series, has spoken out about his frustration in gaining support for titles that cater to core gamers, suggesting that Nintendo will only fund low cost mainstream titles. When asked about his feelings on the current state of Japan's game market, and the fact that Wii is outselling PlayStation 3 by huge amounts each week, Igarashi said the "Wii is selling, but the 'gamer's games' aren't selling. That's what I'm concerned about," he says. "I think there are two roads you can take: Create a game for the core fans with as low a development cost as possible, the other is to just find a different market for these consoles outside the core gamer."

Resistance 2 Video - Ted Price Shows Off Graphics To Doubters
When the original screenshots were officially revealed a few months ago, Resistance 2 won the interest and excitement of many mainly because of the upgrade of the visual fidelity, the increased colour palette specifically. Then Insomniac released a Teaser trailer, in which they insisted was run of the in-game engine but many still doubted. E3, Sony made Insomniac their flagship developer for the PlayStation 3 as they gave a live demonstration of their new title. However, many were surprised at how the graphics displayed did not show the visual leap promised in earlier screenshots. When KillZone 2 was shown, Resistance 2 was pretty much forgotten. Ted Price wants a word...
