Ericcson, Ciena, Embarq lead telecoms higher
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Shares of LM Ericsson, Ciena Corp. and Embarq Corp. topped the telecom charts on Monday as most industry stocks moved higher. Ericsson and Ciena both gained about 4% while Embarq rose 2%. Other notable gainers included Qwest Communications International Inc. , up 1.9%, and Alcatel-Lucent , which climbed about 2% in value. Nokia leads telecoms mostly higher after solid quarter
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Shares of telecommunications stocks mostly rose in Thursday trades after Nokia Corp., the global leader in wireless-handset sales, posted strong quarterly results and gave an optimistic forecast for the rest of the year. Nokia surged almost 8% in early action, a huge gain for a stock with such a high market valuation. Rival LM Ericsson also rose sharply, up 4%. Telecom stocks veer sharply lower; Qwest, Sprint sink
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Shares of telecommunications were shellacked Tuesday along with the broader U.S. market amid concerns about the health of domestic financial institutions.
