POLICE NEWS: Police charge man in connection with Wal-Mart robbery
Arrest — Darrell E. Alvey, 59, 1225 N. Lee Drive No. 15, was charged with second-degree robbery at 3 p.m. Thursday at Wal-Mart at 1201 Morgantown Road, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report. Alvey was accused of hiding merchandise in his shirt and pants and then punching and pushing an employee who attempted to stop him from leaving the store.He is in the Warren County Regional Jail on $2,000 bond.Arrest — Brenda Mehic, 25, 1181 Fair St., was charged with theft of identity at 12:08 a.m. today at Trace Die Cast at 140 N. Graham Ave., according to a city police report.Mehic was allegedly using the name and Social Security number of a Tennessee woman to apply for a job, according to the report.She is in jail without bond.Burglary — Prescription pills, 40 CDs, 25 video games and a game system valued at $4,620 were stolen between July 15 and Thursday from an apartment in the 1100 block of Adams Street, according to a city police report.Theft — A paint-ball gun and CD player valued at $450 were stolen between 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Shive Lane, according to a city police report.Theft — Cash, identification, two purses, a camera and a flash drive valued at $430 were stolen from a car between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Wednesday at Lampkin Park at 942 Morgantown Road, according to a city police report.
