How long can Microsoft keep charging for Xbox Live
Guardian.UK Writes: "The news that Games for Windows Live - essentially a PC version of Xbox Live - will now be available for free makes it increasingly difficult for Microsoft to justify charging a subscription to Xbox Live. I'm a big fan of Xbox Live. Friend lists, achievements, ease of use - Live still towers above the Playstation and Wii online services. But then it should. Live costs around 40 quid a year, Sony and Nintendo's offerings are free. Sure the service is good but how long can Microsoft get away with charging?"

How would you like Wireless HDTV on your Sony PS3?
Sony and others like Samsung Electronics, Sharp, Hitachi and Motorola has just set up a joint industry development body to bring you all something special and that is Wireless Home Digital Interface or better know as WHDI as standard by the end of the year. What the hell is WHDI? Well to cut a long story short here is a little insight, "A key ingredient of WHDI technology is a revolutionary video-modem that operates in the 5GHz unlicensed band to enable robust wireless delivery of uncompressed HD video (including 1080p). WHDI will allow secure encrypted HD video delivery through multiple rooms and of course other potential signal obstructions like furniture and people, but yet still giving you superb quality and robustness with less than one-millisecond latency.

PlayStation 3's "MAG" In Real-Time
Kotaku writes: "The reveal of Zipper Interactive's MAG at E3 2008 was slightly tarnished by the fact that what Sony presented at its media briefing was a pre-rendered affair. Sure, it looked like that clip utilized in-game assets, but we've been burned by CG before. Never again! Fortunately, on the official PlayStation.blog, we get a look at how MAG will run in real-time, thanks to Rade Stojsavljevic, the game's senior producer. Stojsavljevic notes in the comments that the official still of MAG is "an actual screenshot running on a PS3," one "cropped to center on the action." Impressive? Hard to tell at 500 x 281 resolution, but we're willing to give it the benefit of the doubt."

Sony: PS3 is the only global option for 3rd parties
Platform holder says the PS3 leads in Japan, Europe and has the momentum in North America. Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, Peter Dille, Vice President, Sony Computer Entertainment of America, has played down the importance of losing Final Fantasy XIII exclusivity on PS3, stating he believes PlayStation is still the home of the Final Fantasy franchise. "What you have with Final Fantasy XIII is a lot like what they've paid for with GTA. It's not an exclusive on their platform. It's now a cross-platform game," said Dille. "I think if you look at how GTA behaved in the marketplace and how it drove - or didn't drive - either console, that's what I'm talking about. Consumers responded to GTA on the PS3 just as they did on the 360. And it becomes a bit of a jump ball. But it didn't rise the tide for them."
