Pitchford on Home: 'Shouldn't we have it already?'
Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford has expressed concern over the PS3's Second Life style online world Home, fearing Sony is making it too complicated. Speaking to VideoGamer.com at E3 last week, Pitchford, who is responsible for upcoming multiplatform first-person shooters Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Borderlands, said that he doesn't understand why Home hasn't already been released and called on Sony to make it very simple and quick when it is eventually launched. When asked what he thought about Home, Pitchford replied: "That's neat. I want to play with it. It's kind of weird. I don't understand why I don't have it yet. Shouldn't we have had it already? When did we first hear about it? A year and a half ago? What's the deal? I think they're trying to bite off a lot there and make it really really complicated and I agree with some of the intent behind it, but we need a very simple, quick way to do what they're offering."

Gearbox dev reveals Sony doesn't force Trophy support
Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford has revealed to VideoGamer.com that there is no requirement from Sony to support the PS3's recently implemented Trophy system. However, he said that Gearbox will support them. The developer currently has three high profile multiplatform first-person shooters coming out this year and in 2009 - Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Borderlands. When asked what he thought of PS3 Trophies, Pitchford replied: "That's pretty interesting. I want to play with it first. I think it's a cool thing. I'm addicted to achievement points on the Xbox 360 so I understand a part of what that's about. I actually have over 71,000 gamer points."

Sony's amazing crapware-free PC
Sony is finally taking on its crapware problem. For the past two months, I've been using an astonishingly light and agile Sony VAIO notebook and loving every minute of it. Peter Moore: Wii to Win Console War with Over 50% Market Share
GameDaily: It's a lot easier to talk about the console wars when you're not running the business behind one anymore. EA Sports' Peter Moore sees Wii taking the crown. While Sony's Kaz Hirai told the Financial Times that he thinks the PS3 can sell 150 million units during its lifespan, former Xbox man and current EA Sports label president Peter Moore gave the Times a different picture of what he expects the market to look like several years down the road. Moore, like many others in the industry, has predicted a relatively easy victory for Nintendo.

Ripten Hands-On Preview: Killzone 2
Ripten: "With all the buzz around LittleBigPlanet, we didn't want to forget another of Sony's big games at E3, Killzone 2. The highly anticipated and long-awaited first-person shooter was definitely one of the best looking games I checked out at E3. Now I know why the game has been in development for over four years. With the power of the PS3 and Guerrilla Game's propriety engine, Killzone 2 looks incredible, and is almost up to par with that infamous trailer shown back at E3 2005. "
