WSOP Academy bound for Los Angeles
The critically acclaimed poker course will be debuting in Los Angeles at the Bike Casino on Sept. 6-7. The event will be headlined by Annie Duke, Alex Outhred, Kenny Tran and poker tells expert Joe Navarro, who will all share their knowledge on the game. "The WSOP Academy is coming off another amazing summer at the World Series of Poker that saw one of Academy grads again at the final table just days after attending our camp," said Brandon Rosen of Post Oak Productions, the company that produces the WSOP Academy. "We're now excited to offer our first academy experience in Los Angeles and welcome 2008 WSOP bracelet winner Kenny Tran, one of L.A.'s most noted poker professionals, to our family of instructors." Like all WSOP Academy events the one in L.A. will provide participants with seminars, interactive workshops, live hand demonstrations and customized handbooks which cover all aspects of No-Limit Hold'em strategy. Navarro, who worked with the FBI in the areas of counterintelligence and counterterrorism, will be speaking for the first time in L.A. "I look forward to working with the WSOP Academy students in Los Angeles to help them see inside their opponents and change the way they view their opponents," he said. "I plan on spending time working with players individually and spotting the tells they are giving off at the table. I truly believe that this type of personalized attention can save a player a lot of money in the long run." The seminar has proven results and last year an academy grad named Sally Anne-Boyer took everything she learned in the course to take down her first WSOP bracelet in the 2007 Ladies Event. This year another grad, Patty Till, made it to the final table of the 2008 Ladies Event. At the end of the course all participants will get a chance to put their new found poker knowledge to good use with a tournament for a $5,000 entry fee into a WSOP Circuit event of their choice. Taking part in the WSOP Academy's L.A. event will cost $1,499 and space is limited to 100 participants so early registration is recommended. Fallout 3 In Australia: The Real Skinny
From the article: "As it turns out, the situation isn't as dire for the Australian crowd as some would paint it: Anyone who wants Fallout 3 is free to order it elsewhere with no risk of penalty. "The main thing to realize is that Fallout 3 hasn't been 'banned' in Australia, it's just been refused classification," Yug said. "That means retailers here can't sell it (because they can't sell a product without a rating) but it also doesn't make the game illegal. So no jail time for importing games that have been refused classification!"
