Toyota reportedly cuts worldwide sales forecast
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Toyota Motor Corp. slashed its 2008 worldwide group sales target to the lower 9.5 million unit level from the previously targeted goal of selling 9.85 million cars and trucks, according to the Japanese business daily Nikkei in a report dated Wednesday. The warning stems from an unexpectedly steep decline in demand for new vehicles in the U.S. market amid surging gas prices.
