MadWorld dev: Wii "too many of the same type of games"
Director of upcoming gore-fest from SEGA and Platinum games details why such a game is a good fit for Wii. At SEGA's showcase event for its four-game deal with Platinum Games (the studio formerly known as Seeds, created by ex-Clover Studio staff) Mad World director Shigenori Nishikawa revealed why the decision was made to develop such a violent game for Nintendo's family-oriented console. "We felt that the Wii Marketplace had too many of the same type of games - there was something missing in the line-up," stated Nishikawa. "That's why we created such a game as Mad World."

Analysts Unmoved By 360's 10 mln US Milestone - EDGE
EDGE writes: "Analysts are relatively unmoved by Microsoft's 10 million-unit Xbox 360 milestone, with one calling the company's recent announcement 'a last-chance chest-pounding moment.' He added, '...We do not expect Sony or Nintendo will announce defeat this week, in the drama wake caused from Xbox 360 domestic units sales crossing an arbitrary line in the sand. 'It's unclear to us if Microsoft considers the Wii console from Nintendo to be a competitive product, but we expect the Wii's installed base will likely eclipse the Xbox 360's installed base in CY08, and eventually win the console war by a wide margin."

Designer Miyamoto makes video games pulse with life
USATODAY.com - NEW YORK - Shigeru Miyamoto, the father of iconic Nintendo mascot Mario, among many others, doesn't just bring characters to life in his video games. He injects his life into his creations. That's why his latest project, Wii Fit, which arrives in stores Wednesday, is not really a game at all. It's a $90 software-and-gadget fitness package for Nintendo's revolutionary Wii, reflecting Miyamoto's interest in his own physical health. Wii Fit, which comes with a balance board, has a built-in virtual trainer that helps players with yoga, aerobics and muscle toning.

Six new technologies that will shape PC gaming's future -- or not.
1UP writes: "For every winner of an American Inventor season, a couple hundred would-be Thomas Edisons go home losers. For every Nintendo Wii, there are 1,000 Nintendo Virtual Boys. There's no shortage of new technology in the world -- but the ratio of brilliant ideas to worthless crap is decidedly out of whack. And so we present for your consideration six emerging technologies that might change the way you play PC games in the future. Or may not. From brain-wave scanning to pupil tracking to peripherals that simulate a Serengeti breeze, these devices -- some prototypes, some real products you can buy today -- are nothing if not creative. And their creators are hoping you'll want to play with them every day."

Kid Icarus Wii becomes more of a reality with retail listing
It's pretty safe to say that Kid Icarus is pretty close to being confirmed. IGN discusses the title almost every week, and the concept art/info that popped up a few days ago reinforced the claims of the IGN team. However, another bit of info from DVD Feed, an Australian video game collector of sorts, may reinforce the existence of a Kid Icarus title. A listing has appeared on PALGN which updates its list with new games added to DVD Feed, and believe it or not, Kid Icarus Wii is on a new list.
