E3: Sony Soars To New Heights
Endsights writes: "Even though they lost another exclusive in Final Fantasy XIII, Sony had a strong yet somber showing at E3. They made it loud and clear, on several occasions, that this was the year of the PlayStation 3, and I couldn't agree more. After bringing up the rear in the "next-gen console war" ever since its launch, the PS3 is showing its teeth for the first time ever since the battle for supremacy began. After a stellar month of June, where the PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 by a healthy margin, and where Metal Gear Solid 4 stealthily sneaked atop the sales charts for the month, Sony showed off its full arsenal for this year and beyond and proved that they can compete with Nintendo & Microsoft."

Wii Shines, Xbox 360 Loses Ground
TGDaily.com writes, big announcements at E3 cannot hide that Microsoft had a rough June with its game console. The Nintendo Wii surpassed the Xbox 360 as the most sold current game console in the United States. Every other game console, including the PSP and Nintendo DS, sold more units. Has the Xbox 360 lost its appeal?

Ve3tro: E3 08: Fable 2 Hands On Impressions
If you're looking for objectivity on this one you've come to the wrong place. If Peter Molyneux invited me to spend all of E3 at his presentations for the entire show, I would probably do it. Fable 2 is going to be a singular RPG experience on the Xbox 360. I won't spend time going through the combat which has been polished very well since last year or the seamless coop over Xbox live that was announced at the press briefing. Or the fact that the game is done and set to ship in October.

What's New in Wii Dead Rising
1UP's Kevin Gifford writes: "We heard Wednesday that Dead Rising, one of the more memorable sandbox games on the Xbox 360, is coming to the Wii, but now we've got further details on the game translated directly from the Famitsu article that made the revelation. The new port, called Dead Rising: Zombie Sacrifice in Japan, will feature all manner of new features and expanded gameplay -- and as producer and director Minoru Nakai discussed with Weekly Famitsu magazine this week, it's all part of an effort to make the notoriously difficult game more appealing to the casual user base." Making a hardcore game more casual for the Wii? Who finds this shocking?
