Making sure my PS3 fanboy hat fits.
SarcasticGamer writes: "Ever since episode one of the Sarcastic Gamer Playstation Podcast aired, I have been getting as much love from the Playstation community as I have been getting hate from the Xbox neighborhood. Considering the console war never meant a damn thing to me before (and still doesn't), seeing as how I have alway been a proven PC addict, news that I am now a biased PS3 fanboy struck me as ludicrous, and more than a little funny. Do I like the PS3 more than the 360? Without question. Do I think the 360 sucks? No, and anyone that believes I do needs to take 10 chill pills (Pez candy of course) and go back to their Halo 3 happy place. Check out why I went with the PS3 over the 360 after the jump!"

MS selling old consoles as 'new' in Europe - buyers beware
Max Console reports that Fench website logic-sunrise who is usually pretty clued up on these things indicates that Microsoft's new 199 Euro's Xbox 360 packs with 2 games and 2 wireless controllers are in fact OLD machines. After opening 10 of them, they found that the machines have been converted to new and all have non-falcon motherboards, old Hitachi 47 or Samsung MS25 drives and the repair center sticker on them. They suggest that you do not buy these packs and if you want a brand new machine, then fork out 199 Euro's for the arcade pack or 269 Euro's for the premium pack."

MTV Multiplayer: Microsoft's Shane Kim Updates Us On Peter Jackson 'Halo,' Re-Thinking 'Games For Windows' And More
MTV Multiplayer writes: "When I had dinner with Microsoft's Shane Kim and Kudo Tsunoda on Monday, we talked about more than just Gears of War 2. Kim is the head of Microsoft Game Studios and therefore a guy worth peppering with any gaming questions I could think of related to the Xbox 360's Microsoft-published efforts. Here's some of what I asked him between bites of fish: Q: When will Microsoft make a game that requires and takes advantage of the Xbox 360's hard-drive? A: You're not likely to see a first party title that does that, Kim said. I suggested that Microsoft had to have reached a point by now when the company could assume a large number of Xbox 360 owners have the drive. And surely the upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable content will require it. But still, Kim said he believed the games from MGS should be playable on all Xbox 360s and that it's a software maker's challenge to get the games to work without a hard drive."

Why Microsoft's Xbox 360 sales milestone isn't so impressive
Ars Technica's Ben Kuchera gets critical of the the 360 units sold tally: "Microsoft has sent word to the gaming press that the Xbox 360 has become the first console in the current generation to sell 10 million units in the US. Microsoft also points out its 19 million units sold worldwide but, while the company thinks there is much to be proud of in these numbers, these milestones aren't quite as conclusive as Redmond would have us believe."

Analysts Unmoved By 360's 10 mln US Milestone - EDGE
EDGE writes: "Analysts are relatively unmoved by Microsoft's 10 million-unit Xbox 360 milestone, with one calling the company's recent announcement 'a last-chance chest-pounding moment.' He added, '...We do not expect Sony or Nintendo will announce defeat this week, in the drama wake caused from Xbox 360 domestic units sales crossing an arbitrary line in the sand. 'It's unclear to us if Microsoft considers the Wii console from Nintendo to be a competitive product, but we expect the Wii's installed base will likely eclipse the Xbox 360's installed base in CY08, and eventually win the console war by a wide margin."
